ANDRE CISNEROS Born February 15th, 7 lbs 12 oz 21.5 in long!

We tried so hard to get my labor started on it's own. We walked around town center, walked stairs, did squats and walked around Target and WalMart....but to no avail ;) That night I started having a couple contractions but nothing regular. The next morning we went to the hospital to have a baby. It was the wierdest feeling walking into the hospital to have a baby and not already be in labor. When they hooked me up to the IV, I was having a few contractions on my own, then they started the potasin and WOW! my contractions got strong, then they broke my water and it really started! After about 6 hours of these really strong contractions, I couldn't take it any more and had them give me the epidural. I love those things! It makes labor so much more enjoyable. I was relaxing and laughing and resting. Couldn't feel a thing ;) 3 hours later, the doctor came in to check me and I was fully dialated, but the baby was sunny side up. So to get him to switch positions he had me move side to side every 10 minutes. The doctor seemed to think that he had time to go and eat Subway for dinner, that the baby wasn't coming yet. Well, the nurse had to call him and cut his dinner short because that baby was COMING! He had turned on his own and was ready to come out! He got there barely in time to put on all his gear and told me to not push through the next contraction so he could get on the gloves. 3 contractions and 9 minutes of pushing later at 6 :36 pm, Andre entered the world. I couldn't have asked for a better labor and am so grateful that our baby boy was big and healthy ;) We are so happy to have him here with us.

My IV hurt so bad I wanted it out all day and they wouldn't take it out for a while even after the baby was born. I hate all the stuff you have to be hooked up to, as if you aren't uncomfortable enough lol!!

Bringing Andre home....Aaralyn is not too happy ;) When we first set him next to her on the couch she kept saying, "no I don't want it!" It took her a couple of days to want to hold him. the first night she was talking in her sleep and said, "No it's my mommy!" and "I don't want it". Yesterday she was telling Andre ,"This is mommy", pointing to me ,"and IT'S MINE"! She is slowly learning to adjust and loves brushing his hair, she always says "pretty hair". She helps me get his diapers and is very curious when I am nursing. She always tells me, "I want some". I tried to explain to her it is just for babies ;) lol





My mommy came for a week to help and boy was it so nice!! She took such good care of Aaralyn. She cleaned, did laundry, cooked stayed up with the baby and SO much more. I love her! I wasn't ready for her to go but am glad she was here and helped me so much!

Baby Showers!!!

We are getting close to the big day!! I am due Feb 15th, but am hoping to have this baby by Valentines!!! My friends had planned a big surprise baby shower in Williamsburg last weekend, but with the snow storm, we had to cancel. So, they were all so sweet and I got TWO showers. One in Williamsburg with our friends last Thursday and another today with all the girls from church! I am so spoiled and lucky to have such great people in my life.

Here are some pictures from the baby shower in Williamsburg. Maria and Carmen are so sweet and put in a lot of time and effort for this. Not to mention all the cooking they did on the day the shower was cancelled. I was so bummed when I found out about it because they make the BEST Puerto Rican food!! Instead they reschuduled and we ate at a yummy Mexican Restaurant downtown Newport News called Salsa. Here are a few pics...
